About Warren

Community eventWarren Seay, Jr. knows DeSoto. Warren has lived, attended school, and worked in DeSoto since he was eight years old.  He graduated sixth in his class from DeSoto High School and was the class of 2006 Senior Class President.  He was also named the 2006 Big Brother/Big Sister of the Year with his mentee at Cockrell Hill Elementary.  Warren knows the schools and the issues well because of his invaluable experiences as a student.

Warren has always been a community leader. He has left his mark both at home in DeSoto and away at SMU.  He is a co-founder of the DeSoto Alumni Association.  At school, Warren leads with exemplary skill and judgement as the President of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. (Nu Kappa Chapter), the Political Action Chair of the Association of Black Students, and the Vice President of the National Pan-Hellenic Council of SMU.  He is also an active member of Dallas Community Lifehouse and Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

Warren works hard for change. He has prepared himself to lead by holding an internship with the United States Department of Labor as a fellow for the Institute for Responsible Citizenship.  In this position, he was able to meet and work with influential political leaders in Washington, DC and learn about how to form and implement good government practices.  Warren’s academic success is evidence of his strong work ethic.  He is a Hunt Leadership Scholar at Southern Methodist University and is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Policy.  Most recently, Warren was awarded the prestigious and important Truman Scholarship  from the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation for his goals of working for better education in DeSoto, Texas.

Warren is ready and qualified to lead. He understands the challenges he will face, but he is prepared to go the extra distance for the DeSoto community.
